# Members

> Invite people to your June workspace and manage their roles.

Owners and Admins manage members from `Settings > Members`. They can only give out roles that include access they themselves have; any role with access beyond their own appears locked or disabled.

For what each role actually includes, see [Role-based access control](/administration/role-based-access-control).

## Invite a member

* Click "Invite Member" to open the "Invite Team Member" dialog.
* Enter their "Email address".
* Choose a "Role". This defaults to Member; the other options are AI Usage, Software Procurement, Admin, and any custom roles your workspace has.
* Click "Send Invitation".

The invitee gets an email and joins with that role once they accept. Invitations expire after a week.

## Pending invitations

* Resend or cancel a pending invitation from its row menu.
* To change the role on a pending invite, cancel it and send a new invitation with the right role.

## Assign roles to an active member

Click a member's role in their row. It shows their first role and, if they hold more, a "+N" count.

* In the "Roles" popover, check one or more roles, then click "Save".
* A note there reads: "Permissions from selected roles are combined."
* At least one role is required.

Nobody can change the Owner's role or June AI's role.

## Remove a member

Open the row menu, choose to remove them, and confirm.

## SSO and roles

People who join through an identity provider connection (for example, Okta) join as Member. An Owner or Admin can change their roles afterwards.

## See your own role

Everyone can see their own role on their Personal Information page, under `Settings > Personal Information`, in the "Role" field.
